Most of the big service providers have dozens of POPs scattered across the country so that you can connect to the Internet with a local-rate telephone call. If you are trying to decide on a service provider, make sure that it has a POP near you or you will have to pay higher telephone charges. If you travel, check if the service provider has any POPs overseas or you will have to telephone a number in your country to get on to the Internet.
